How to access your PC when you forget your secret code

There are several methods through which you will be able to access your PC in case you forget your secret code. These methods include; resetting your secret code, using a reset disk, re-installing your Operating System and third-party software tool.

1.      Reset your secret code

The first step to resetting your secret code is Restarting the PC. Allow the Basic Input/output system to initialize first then hold down the F8 button. After the Boot Menu appears, choose Safe Mode with Networking. Wait for your PC to load: the secret code section is likely to be blank.

Click on the control panel and choose the User Accounts and Family Safety. Click on the User Accounts then choose manage another account. The next step is Select your own account. Lastly, click on Remove the secret code.

2.      Use a secret code reset disk

Firstly, connect a USB-flash disk to your PC and start the secret code reset Wizard then click on Next. Choose the secret code key disk and then click on the Next button. Then enter your new secret code and re-enter it again then click on Next. Click on the Finish button then finally close the wizard.

3.      Use a third-party software

The first step is downloading the third-party software tool package. Uncompress the third-party software package then burn on a DVD/CD or a USB flash drive. Boot your locked PC from the CD/DVD or flash drive you just burned. Give your PC time to finish the booting process then click on the Reset button. Once you have clicked on the Reset button, the forgotten secret code will be removed.

4.      Re-install your Operating System

You can choose to re-install your Operating System. The disadvantage of doing this is the fact that you might end up losing all your data. Re-installing your Operating System is a drastic measure that you should result to only when you do not have another option.
